Private landlord illegally raised rent five times in 18 months and did not advise of rent increases using the prescribed form. When I advised him I was taking him to VCAT for compensation he tried to evict me. I challenged this at VCAT and the eviction was overturned. He then tried to illegally evict me by deactivating my key fob. I have since left the property and VCAT currently have my case listed for hearing.
