The location is excellent, but the building design with brick lightwells means noise travels easily from upstairs, downstairs and neighbouring apartments. You can hear activity from multiple surrounding units as well as the adjacent block.
Ventilation is poor, so the apartment feels damp and becomes extremely hot in summer. The building is mostly rentals, with only a few long term residents, so there is a fairly transient feel. While some neighbours are respectful, others contribute to a noisy and unsettled environment.
