My experience at this property was highly stressful from start to finish. At the beginning of the tenancy the property was filthy, had insect and mosquito problems due to blocked gutters, and the backyard was in a neglected condition. Despite these issues being raised, no effective remediation was carried out.
Throughout the lease, the landlord refused to undertake reasonable maintenance and repairs. At the end of the tenancy, the landlord attempted to prevent the return of the bond by making claims for items that had already been documented as damaged, dirty or poorly maintained in the ingoing condition report.
The property manager was unprofessional and failed to attend the initial tribunal hearing. The landlord's claims were ultimately dismissed and the bond was returned in full. Overall, the property suffered from poor maintenance and the tenancy was made significantly more difficult by the conduct of both the landlord and managing agency.
