The unit has virtually no soundproofing — you can hear the upstairs neighbour using the toilet and full conversations through the walls. Heating is very poor and does not keep the unit warm, while summers are extremely hot with little airflow. The landlord refuses to install proper heating or cooling. There is visible rising damp and mould in the carpet near the bedroom door. Once the initial 12-month lease ended the landlord pushed all tenants onto month-to-month leases due to planned renovation or demolition, and has little interest in long-term tenants or meaningful repairs. Overall the unit is overpriced for its condition.
