I lived in this apartment for two years and the experience became increasingly difficult. Shortly after moving in, major freeway upgrade construction began nearby, with drilling and heavy works often starting around 4am. The construction noise continued throughout almost the entire tenancy, yet the rent was still increased by 10%.
The apartment itself had ongoing maintenance issues that were never properly addressed. Electricity would frequently drop out when multiple kitchen appliances were used at once, windows could not fully close due to rusted frames, and a cracked bathroom window was never replaced. The property was also dirty when I moved in and required additional cleaning.
There were repeated plumbing issues from upstairs that required tradespeople to access my apartment regularly. On one occasion, I was asked if plumbers could enter through the windows while I was not home. I was only given a single master key, meaning I often had to be physically present for inspections and maintenance access. Overall the combination of construction noise, poor maintenance and management made the property feel overpriced and stressful to live in.
