I lived in this studio for two years and experienced persistent mould problems throughout the tenancy. Shortly after moving in, mould began growing rapidly on the walls despite my efforts to reduce moisture. The agency repeatedly ignored emails and calls or advised me to simply open a window before eventually arranging repeated mould treatments. The mould continually returned because the underlying cause was never fixed. A specialist mould company advised that blocked gutters and building defects were trapping stormwater and causing the recurring problem. During the tenancy I had to throw away furniture and personal belongings damaged by mould. After moving out, I was charged a $400 cleaning fee despite leaving the property in a cleaner condition than when I moved in. The property has since been re-listed at a substantially higher rent without the underlying issues being addressed.
