The property had major structural issues and ongoing water ingress. Water got into the wardrobe and caused mould to grow behind the paint, sometimes spreading to visible areas, and we had clothing in front of it which made it worse. We suffered about $3,000 worth of damage to clothes. The building owner took a long time to pay the agent for mould treatment, and we only received $500 towards the damaged clothing.
The top balcony ceiling was full of mould from water damage and it was promised to be repaired when we moved in, but two years later nothing had happened. The agent blamed body corporate and body corporate blamed the agent.
Even with windows open, moisture upstairs would hang so heavily it looked like it was raining inside on the windows. The complex was poorly managed and often dirty. The carpark was never cleaned during our two years there and there were mould spots on the garage entrance. There was also ongoing theft from the mail area and storage units.
Despite these issues, the owner increased the rent and refused to properly address the problems. Expect constant trades visits without lasting fixes.
