The carpets were sticky and torn. You couldn’t walk around barefoot without feeling it. The stickiness was from the carpet fibres breaking down. The landlord used to show up without notice. One time I was in the bathroom and saw him at the window. The agents told me to call the police. We also had the worst neighbours. One used to light fires, steal our mail, and damage our car. They smoked right out the front, had screaming fights, and blocked the driveway constantly. They’ve moved now but if you’re considering the place, make sure you’re okay with whoever’s next door. You won’t be able to avoid them.
