This house was leased directly by the owner after lockdowns, no agent involved. At first the no-bond offer seemed odd, but it quickly became clear the property was in such poor condition that there was little left to damage. Major issues like leaking roof, root-bound pipes and rotting floorboards were never properly repaired — the owner would climb onto the roof himself or use makeshift 'fixes' such as yoga mats stuffed into chimney cracks. Rent was demanded in cash each month at the front door. The most serious issue was untreated black mould spreading across ceilings, which the landlord ignored. The property was unsafe, unsanitary and completely mismanaged. Avoid at all costs.
