Boarding house accommodation at 77 Heal Street, New Farm. I lived in Room 5 and experienced ongoing verbal abuse and intimidation from other residents. On 23 August 2019 I was subjected to homophobic slurs in front of the on-site manager, who ignored the situation entirely. Feeling unsafe, I vacated shortly afterwards. The owner later kept my 00 bond despite an RTA ruling in my favour for its return. Attempts to recover the money through the RTA, QSTARS and Caxton Legal were unsuccessful. This experience left me homeless for a period and was deeply distressing. Sharing this so others know what they might face living there.
