This house had a string of problems that were never properly fixed. Toxic mould spread through parts of the property and was left untreated for more than eight months. During that same time the landlord and agency raised the rent by twelve percent. The back area flooded whenever it rained, the electrical wiring and kitchen appliances were not compliant, and basic safety standards were ignored. After being given notice to vacate, it took over a month for them to refund the overpaid rent. The landlord lives overseas in France and seemed unaware or uninterested in their legal responsibilities as the property was effectively uninhabitable for much of the tenancy.
