My daughter lived here for several years and I paid her rent. The property manager was dodgy and invented fees when claiming the bond — cleaning of a disgusting mattress provided with the unit, cleaning broken blinds, pest control despite cockroach infestations, and even break lease costs after previously agreeing the lease could be ended early. He entered the unit without notice while my daughter had just come out of the shower and several small items went missing, including her bicycle pump and library books. We were also threatened verbally that unless we paid for repainting the whole unit due to minor picture holes, she would be evicted. We paid, but it seemed the maintenance manager pocketed part of the payment. He also had a serious drinking problem and became aggressive in the afternoons. Avoid Melrose Place — this landlord and manager cannot be trusted.
