Where to start… Exposed sewage drain, cockroach infestation, next to abandoned house, cracked and rotting foundations, greedy landlord, all doors have signs of forced entry, no curtains and no doorstops. Found a used item under the laundry sink from a previous tenant. Missing and damaged windows and a sink with duct tape over leaks. Bathroom tiles popped out from the wall, peeling paint, cracked light fixture with exposed wires and missing shower sealant. Front double doors had no restraining mechanism or lock and slammed in the wind. Kitchen roof showed signs of previous leaks, rusted guttering and a broken oven ignitor. Lawn maintenance stopped despite multiple tenants. Proposed lease shifted garden maintenance responsibility unfairly. One neighbour domestic incident but otherwise quiet area. REA was average and reasonable to deal with, but landlord showed little care for the property. Was paying $255 from Feb 2023 to Feb 2024, now listed at $310. Requested mouldy air conditioners be cleaned before renewing at $285, refused and offer withdrawn after issuing breach notice despite three years of on-time rent. Only rent as a last resort.
