The owner was extremely controlling and conducted inspections in a way that felt intrusive. He would bring his elderly mother and closely examine every wall looking for damage. We felt constantly scrutinised and uncomfortable. We eventually left because of the ongoing stress.
The property itself was decent overall, but even minor things such as putting up a picture hook required permission. The yard regularly flooded due to a lack of gutters. Communication was difficult and interactions felt unnecessarily confrontational. Overall, while the house was liveable, the experience with the landlord made the tenancy unpleasant.
