The building is very old and has severe pest problems throughout. Cockroach infestations were constant regardless of how clean individual apartments were kept. More recently there were also reports of maggot infestations affecting multiple floors.
The fire alarm was frequently triggered by false alarms, causing regular disruptions. While emergency services responded quickly, the repeated alarms and unresolved pest issues made the building difficult to live in overall.
