A terrible renting experience. The property was a large house divided into two units. We lived in the lower two-bedroom unit and were told the landlord lived upstairs but was ‘pretty chill’. In reality, he was constantly in our yard gardening or looking for excuses to criticise us, and he demanded rent be paid in cash. The interior was poorly built and maintained—everything was a DIY job. When a bathroom tile fell off, we reported it, and the next day he let himself into the property without permission while my partner was showering, seeing him naked. After that, we installed a camera because we suspected he’d entered before when we weren’t home. We moved out as soon as we could. Completely dodgy, invasive and unprofessional landlord. Stay far away.
