This property had major maintenance and safety issues throughout the tenancy. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling, broken tiles, blocked drains, and electrical faults that were never addressed. A burst hot water pipe flooded the floor and caused further mould under the carpet, yet the tenant was still charged for the water used. The agency ignored repeated repair requests and failed to fix unsafe features such as the cracked verandas and broken fixtures. The house was also infested with cockroaches and had poor security, with a front door that barely locked. It is unacceptable that anyone should have to live in these conditions, especially with a newborn in the home. The rent charged for this property was unjustified given its state.
