This landlord never lodged our bond, claiming it was the agent’s fault, even though we paid it directly into their account. The backyard was full of rubbish left from previous tenants, and pest control was refused despite cockroaches crawling across us in our sleep. The wiring was dangerously outdated, ceramic fuses in the switchboard and when the power repeatedly failed, electricians told us the whole system needed replacing. Instead, the landlord sent a friend to patch the fault and left the rest. Whenever it rained, the power would cut out, which was a nightmare while working from home during COVID with a child in the house. Basic safety and tenant rights were ignored. This was one of the worst rentals we’ve endured, and I would strongly avoid it.
