The house was okay overall and repairs usually happened, but they were typically done by the owner and he’d sometimes turn up without much notice. The biggest issue was the shed out the back: it was cracked and broken in multiple places and later testing confirmed it contained asbestos, despite the owner insisting it wasn’t. The laundry taps never worked, and the kitchen bench was literally held together with packing tape. To be fair, during COVID lockdown when I lost my job, they agreed to a rent reduction, which I appreciated. Overall it wasn’t the worst place, but the safety and maintenance issues made it a stressful rental.
