The property was infested with rats for most of the year. An exterminator said he used more rat bait in the roof than he ever had before. There was also constant mould growth in the shower due to poor ventilation and around windows because the frames were sunken and not properly sealed. The property manager later attempted to claim against our bond for this mould.
On the first day of the tenancy, the only toilet overflowed and flooded the area. The agent was unresponsive until the following day and said a plumber could not attend until Monday, despite it being an urgent repair. We had to contact Consumer Affairs twice and issue two breach of duty notices before repairs were addressed. Overall, the property was poorly maintained and the agency was extremely difficult to deal with.
