Avoid this property at all costs. The gas heater was condemned for carbon-monoxide leaks, yet the house was still leased out. After months of delays, the landlord’s ‘fix’ was to mount two 9 portable heaters to the wall — clearly still non-compliant. We went through multiple VCAT hearings just to get basic heating installed, by which point winter was already over. The oven and stove repeatedly shorted and sparked; after weeks without one, they finally replaced it, but it doesn’t even fit and sits in the middle of the kitchen. Possums in the roof caused urine leaks, which were ‘fixed’ by sealing holes instead of removing the animals. We’ve broken the lease early and discovered they’ve already relisted it. Completely unsafe, unprofessional and uninhabitable.
