The house looks great in photos and even during inspection, but it was clearly built to flip. Cupboards are extremely shallow and almost useless. Closets don’t fit hangers unless turned sideways and have no shelving. Laundry shelves are tiny. The driveway is steep and narrow, making the carport basically unusable. Walls are thin, no insulation, you can hear everything. Hard water has discoloured the bathroom tiles. Most things are gas so expect huge bills, ours hit $1100 in winter with minimal heating. No reception inside the house and no power points in the hallway. Bedroom carpet looks good but wears out fast. Back veranda timber isn’t treated. Laundry is tiny, we had to remove a door to fit the washer. Front door only has a deadbolt, no handle. That said, the owner and Leura-based agent are excellent — quick responses and willing to fix big things fast. Back garden is beautiful with a stream, bridge, and pond (though it leaks). Double glazed windows. Main bathroom is lovely and ensuite is solid. Good quality appliances and a big butler’s pantry. Open-plan layout is great. Heating works very well. Massive under-house storage. Neighbours are great.
