This property is a nightmare. A hole in the shower wall remained for two years, with leaking sewage and water pipes under the house and in the yard ignored by Yarra Valley Water, the owner and the real estate. No heating or cooling, extensive mould, rodent infestations, and mismatched, rotting flooring full of holes. Windows can’t lock properly, flyscreens are torn, and the back door’s louvres make break-ins common—only my dog has stopped intruders. Power points spark, some leak green fluid, and essential repairs take years. The toilet and laundry are sinking, kitchen leaks into cupboards causing more mould, gutters are full of massive holes, and windows are falling out. Despite this, rent has increased by the maximum allowed each year—roughly 90 per month annually. The only positive: lovely, supportive neighbours. Everything else is disgraceful.
