The property had a number of positives including a good street, friendly neighbours, a large backyard, floorboards throughout and effective cooling in summer. The split system and oven worked well and the house generally felt safe.
However there were major maintenance and plumbing issues that were never properly resolved. The toilet frequently backed up due to tree roots in the sewer line, causing sewage leaks and water pooling under the house. This contributed to a sink hole forming at the front of the property, with hazard fencing and traffic cones left in place for months. The front yard and parts of the house showed signs of structural movement.
Other issues included rats and mice, draughts in winter, a broken outdoor toilet, mould under damaged flooring, limited kitchen bench space and poor parking availability. The property manager was disorganised and repairs were rarely completed despite rent increases. Overall the house had charm and potential, but ongoing maintenance failures significantly affected liveability.
