My first share house experience — the shower had literally sunk into the ground, and you could feel a cold breeze on your ankle while showering. That same gap was where mice would enter the property. When we requested repairs, the agent told us fixing it would come with a major rent increase or possibly mean the landlord would sell, forcing us to move out. The place desperately needed attention but was left to deteriorate.
