This old house had serious maintenance problems from the start. Plants were growing through the bathroom walls, which were little more than a lean-to structure attached to the main house. Heavy rain brought leaks through several large cracks in the roof, and although some repairs were done after months of requests, the worst leaks never stopped. There was also a constant mouse problem, though having a dog helped. On the positive side, insulation was finally added to the roof while we lived there, which made a big difference, and the neighbours were genuinely kind people. Overall, it was a charming but very run-down property that needed much more attention from the landlord and agency.
