This was one of Ray White Epping’s rental properties, we viewed the property, left an application & no surprise we were accepted, we assumed they’d at least clean the property in the 20 days it was left vacant before we moved in. These photos are the property 48 hours before our lease was supposed to commence. Safe to say we cancelled our lease straight away; I have bad asthma & can’t live in a house with black mould in the bedroom, mould all over the curtains, water actively leaking through crack in ceiling into a room with exposed wiring; this place was horrendous. Basin drawers all smashed, fly-screens all ripped (they tried to blame birds so wouldn’t repair it), looked like a trap house out of a Saw movie. When I approached the property manager to get my 2 weeks rent back as the property was deemed uninhabitable he told me to return the key and then he would return my money. Three days after I returned the key he emailed me saying I wasn’t getting my money back as it was my choice to cancel the lease; they didn’t believe there was anything major wrong with their property. He then lied and said he had already contacted Fair Trading on my behalf very kindly & they said I have no case — I called Fair Trading and they were disgusted. The agent then ghosted me for six days, so here we are. These guys don’t care about tenant health or happiness; they work for the landlords gouging rental prices to maximise commission, and that’s it. Stay away.
