I have been forced to move out from 2/1 Park Street, Coburg due to noise at night coming from the house next door and aggressive behaviour. The landlord owns most of the houses on our street and placed a family member in one, who has been playing music loudly day and night, smashing/throwing glass bottles at our houses, yelling/screaming and banging on the walls. Eight people were affected and we tried everything: called police 35+ times, reported to council twice, begged the real-estate agent to help (same agent for all our houses and same landlord), spoke to the neighbour, but nothing worked and the agent stopped communicating entirely. The music at night would blast from 11pm until police arrived at 7am. The neighbour would turn it off only for 10 mins after the police left, then blast it even louder. I ended up buying a mattress and sleeping at work because my mental health deteriorated. The neighbour smashed her glass window; the landlord repaired it quickly so prospective tenants wouldn’t see what they’re signing up for. The neighbour doesn’t work and is at home all day. Do not rent this property under these conditions.
