The owners were cheap and incompetent. When we moved in, the oven and dishwasher didn’t work despite being advertised as fully functional. It took six months of constant chasing before replacements were finally installed. The house developed rapid mould growth which they refused to address, forcing us to spend hundreds of dollars on cleaning. At other rentals, the real estate organised professional mould treatment, but not here. At the end of the lease, they increased the rent excessively and would not negotiate, even though we were already paying well above comparable homes in the area. Ultimately, we had to move out because it became unaffordable.
