The house was falling apart and repairs were never properly addressed. The agency only ever sent a handyman who, despite best efforts, could not fix the serious problems. Leaks from the ceiling, broken glass windows, water backing up from ground drains in the bathrooms during heavy rain, subsidence in the backyard and mould in the rear rooms were all ongoing issues. The only positive was that rent was cheap at the time.
