This was a Queenslander split into units which wasn’t ideal but decent for the location. Some had been renovated while others hadn’t and the ones that weren’t really weren’t worth the rent being asked. The walls were thin there was no undercover parking and the shared laundry wasn’t great though you could ask for a private setup if your unit had space.
What made the difference was the landlord. He was actually decent fixed things quickly only did inspections at lease renewal and wasn’t greedy with rent increases. When I had to move because I couldn’t afford the new rent he let me keep paying the old amount until I found somewhere else which ended up being about seven months.
