This place was a nightmare to maintain. It sat on a four-acre block, and the rental agreement required us to keep the lawns in order. On top of that, it ran on tank water and a septic system. For months we had to spend around $200 a month refilling the water tank because the gutters weren’t even connected when we moved in, so no rainwater was collected.
The week we arrived, the dining room ceiling leaked and eventually split open. It took almost 10 months for anyone to come and repair it, all while we were paying $700 a week in rent. For a four-bedroom house with only 1.5 bathrooms and this many problems, it simply wasn’t worth it.
