Looking back, the biggest issue wasn’t the flat itself but the arrangement with the head tenant. They were clearly profiting from the rest of us, which might have been fine if it was fair. Instead, they paid less than a quarter of what the other tenants were charged for rooms of the same size. It felt unreasonable and exploitative, and left a bad taste about the whole rental.
