The entire house was covered in mould and the agency did nothing. My partner, who suffers from asthma and eczema, had severe flare-ups requiring over a year of dermatology treatment and was hospitalised for an asthma attack. The walls were wet to the touch year-round. After our fourth complaint, a mould specialist inspected and provided a list of fixes – none were done. Our clothes and furniture were destroyed by mould; even closing the wardrobe doors caused regrowth. Door handles fell off within a week of moving in, and it took six months to repair the front door, which had crumbled internally. The agent refused to visit, claiming it was 'too far', and wouldn’t hire anyone without being present. The mould assessor warned it was unsafe to live in, and he was right – it was horrendous.
