Converted house split into three units, poorly maintained and well below acceptable standards. An electrician confirmed the wiring was non-compliant and self-installed by the owner, yet no action was taken by the agency. The property was filthy on arrival, with carpets around 40 years old, mould in the laundry cupboard, and a bathroom skylight made of corflute. The bath ran brown water, the blinds were unusable, and the wardrobes were cramped due to a non-functioning spa pump inside. When I complained, I was told ‘it’s not a luxury apartment’. The agents didn’t care, but at least it was relatively affordable — though it shouldn’t take such low expectations to call it liveable.
