Extensive mould developed inside the internal brick wall between the bathroom and second bedroom wardrobe. The issue began with broken shower tiles that allowed water to enter the wall, leading to dampness, mould growth, and eventually a cracked shower base. The agency blamed us for poor ventilation despite the window lacking a flyscreen and the property backing onto a busy Woolworths loading area. It took months of back-and-forth before they installed a screen and a second exhaust fan, but the problem persisted. The wall heater tripped the power after only a few minutes, and the bedroom window frames were rusted and covered in mould. The back fence was broken, creating safety concerns. We eventually moved out permanently after being told to place a shower mat over the crack rather than repair it properly. The property has since been re-listed at a higher rent with no sign of proper remediation.
