Looking back, this place was one of the worst we’ve ever lived in.
There was water damage in nearly every window frame and wall. Mould followed, especially in the corners of rooms and around the sills. Taps constantly dripped, and the hot water system itself was leaking. The carpet throughout was so matted it never really felt clean, and parts of the ceiling were beginning to sag.
The insulation was terrible. In winter it felt like we were living in a fridge, and during summer the broken air conditioner barely helped — when it worked at all. The stove and oven were in pretty bad shape too, with uneven burners and heat that never seemed to regulate properly.
On top of the property issues, the walls were paper thin. You could hear everything from the neighbours next door — conversations, music, even their footsteps. Sleep was a struggle most nights.
