The house was expensive for its condition. The bathrooms were mouldy, the floor stumps were sinking, and the decking and fences were rotting. The agent was unresponsive, and the landlord would send an elderly man to make unsafe repairs instead of hiring professionals. When an attempted break-in occurred, I requested the side gate to be secured but received no response, so my family fixed it. During COVID, the landlord was dismissive when I asked for leniency after being stood down from work, despite having always paid rent on time. It took nine months to fix a collapsed fence. Poor maintenance, poor management, and very stressful overall.
